Cinnamon Apple & Pear Amaranth Porridge

Serving size: 2 servings


  • ½ cup amaranth
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ cup apple, diced
  • ½ cup apple, diced
  • 2 tbsp. maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp. ground cinnamon
  • Dash of ground nutmeg
  • Toppings: nuts, seeds, milk of choice, shredded coconut, etc. if desired.


  1. Bring water and amaranth to a boil in a saucepan, reduce heat to simmer, cover with a lid and cook for 20 minutes or until water is absorbed.
  2. In a different saucepan, add diced apples, pears, maple syrup and cinnamon. Cook until softened, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. Mix prepared amaranth and cooked fruit mixture together. Add walnuts, milk of choice and maple syrup if desired.
