Popped Sorghum

Serving size: 1 serving

Ingredients

  • ¼ cup sorghum grains
  • Desired toppings

Instructions

  1. On the stovetop, heat a pot with a tight fitting lid over medium heat. Once hot, add the sorghum grains and cover with the lid. Shake the pot until the sorghum begins to pop.
  2. Continue shaking the pot nonstop with the lid on.
  3. Once 2/3 of the grain has popped, remove from heat and pour out the popped grains. Resume popping the remaining grains.
  4. Remove from the heat once there are 10 seconds in between pops. Season with your favorite toppings - salt, garlic powder, nutritional yeast, sugar and cinnamon, etc.

Nutrition per serving: 160 calories, 35 g carbohydrates, 1.5 g fat, 3 g fiber, 5 g protein, 1 g sugar.
