Sorghum Berry Breakfast Porridge
Yields 3 servings
Ingredients
- 1 tsp. coconut oil
- 1/2 cup whole grain sorghum
- 2 cups unsweetened milk of your choice
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp. cinnamon, ground
- 1/4 tsp. ginger, ground
- 1 Tbsp. sorghum syrup, honey or maple syrup
- Berries of choice, fresh or frozen
- 2 Tbsp. chia seeds
- 1/4 cup almonds, sliced
Instructions
- Grease a small 1.5 quart crockpot with coconut oil.
- Add the sorghum, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, ginger, sweetener, and berries and combine.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or for 4 hours on high.
- Once cooked, mix in the chia seeds and let sit for 5-10 minutes.
- Divide into 3 equal servings. Top with additional ingredients if desired.
