Managing Multiple Allergies
It's rare for someone to have an allergy to just one thing. For over 55 years, providers at Allergy Associates of La Crosse (AAOL) have been testing and treating allergies – both food and environmental – and they find value in treating all allergens that show up positive on an allergy test.
This blog explains the benefit of treating all offending allergens, and how allergy drops following The La Crosse Method™ Protocol use a multi-allergen treatment approach for best results.
Total Allergic Load
Providers at AAOL treat allergy with the Total Allergic Load in mind. After testing, a thorough history and exam, your provider will have narrowed down what specifically causes your symptoms, and how allergic you are to each allergen.
Think of your body’s ability to handle allergens like a bucket. Each allergen, whether it’s pollen, dust, or food, adds a little water to the bucket. Maybe your bucket doesn't overflow from pollen alone, but add stress, a cold, or allergens from a new environment, and suddenly you’re dealing with sneezing, fatigue, or eczema. That’s your allergic load spilling over.
By reducing reactions to all offending allergens, the water from the bucket is slowly drained, so that when other factors come into play, your body doesn’t go into an allergy flare up.
Using the La Crosse Method, providers dig deeper to consider your total load of conditions that allergies can impact and create a personalized plan to find and treat those that prevent you from being at your best.
Multi-Allergen Sublingual Immunotherapy
How do you treat multiple allergies at once? It’s what providers at AAOL do best. The La Crosse Method uses multi-allergen allergy drop treatment to tackle all identified allergens at their specific level of sensitivity.
Allergy drops following this method contain tiny amounts of all the offending allergens discovered during testing. They’re taken three times daily from wherever you are to keep the body constantly exposed to the allergens. Over the course of treatment, the amount of each allergen is slowly and gradually increased so the body learns to tolerate more and more of it.
After successful treatment, many people experience long-term reduced - or eliminated - symptoms from their allergies, as well as related conditions.
How to Get Started
If you’re tired of managing allergy symptoms without lasting relief, it may be time to consider treating the root cause - not just the symptoms. Providers at AAOL are ready to help you take control of your Total Allergic Load with a customized treatment plan that works with your life.
